The employer is looking for a Principal Process Engineer in Montgomery, AL. In this role you will set technical direction alongside an experienced chemical engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Montgomery office.
What you’ll do
- Lead process hazard analyses and management-of-change reviews
- Run designed experiments to improve process capability
- Monitor and optimize unit operations for yield, quality and cost
- Develop P&IDs, mass balances and process documentation
- Troubleshoot production issues with operations and maintenance
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Knowledge of process safety practices
- Data analysis skills
- Experience in a manufacturing or plant environment
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with Aspen Plus or HYSYS
- Six Sigma certification
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Montgomery, AL is $122,000 – $156,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
