The employer is looking for an Associate Materials Engineer in Houston, TX. In this role you will learn quickly and contribute alongside an experienced materials engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Houston office.
What you’ll do
- Perform failure analysis on returned and field components
- Run mechanical, thermal and microstructural testing
- Support suppliers with process and material issues
- Select and qualify materials for new product designs
- Write material specifications and test reports
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science or Metallurgical Engineering
- Experience with materials characterization methods
- Knowledge of metals, polymers or composites
- Laboratory experience
Nice to have
- Graduate degree in materials science
- Experience with additive manufacturing
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Houston, TX is $68,000 – $87,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
