The employer is a health technology company building software and devices for outpatient care.
Our Rockford office is growing, and we need a Front-End Engineer who can work independently from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative software engineering group and report to the software engineering manager. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Rockford office.
What you’ll do
- Write unit and end-to-end tests for user-facing features
- Work with back-end engineers to define clean API contracts
- Translate designs into reusable components and maintain the shared component library
- Measure and improve page performance and Core Web Vitals
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience writing automated tests for front-end code
- Working knowledge of HTML semantics, CSS layout and browser developer tools
- Production experience with React or a comparable framework
Nice to have
- Familiarity with design systems and Figma
- Experience with Next.js or server-side rendering
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Rockford, IL is $110,000 – $140,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
