The employer is looking for a Backend Engineer in Los Angeles, CA. In this role you will work independently alongside an experienced software engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Los Angeles location.
What you’ll do
- Design and operate APIs and data pipelines that power customer-facing products
- Own services end to end, including deployment, monitoring and on-call
- Build asynchronous processing with message queues and streaming systems
- Improve test coverage and release safety for critical services
- Write design documents and weigh trade-offs with the wider engineering group
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience
- Strong understanding of relational data modeling
- Experience operating services in a cloud environment
- Clear written communication for design reviews
Nice to have
- Experience with Kafka or other streaming platforms
- Background in high-throughput or low-latency systems
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is $144,000 – $183,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
