Our Columbia office is growing, and we need a Staff Site Reliability Engineer who can set technical direction from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative software engineering group and report to the software engineering manager. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Columbia office.
What you’ll do
- Improve the observability stack: metrics, logs and traces
- Lead incident response and write blameless post-incident reviews
- Build tooling that removes toil from operations work
- Run capacity planning and load testing for critical services
- Define service level objectives with product teams and track error budgets
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience with modern observability tooling
- Deep Linux and networking fundamentals
- Experience operating large-scale production systems
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with chaos engineering
- Experience in a regulated or high-availability environment
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Columbia, MO is $167,000 – $213,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
