Senior Controls Engineer

The employer is a packaging manufacturer running high-speed production lines across several plants.
Our Miramar office is growing, and we need a Senior Controls Engineer who can lead technical work from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative electrical & computer engineering group and report to the electrical & computer engineering manager. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Miramar office.
What you’ll do
- Commission equipment on site and train operators
- Design control panels and electrical schematics
- Integrate robots, vision systems and safety devices
- Develop HMI and SCADA screens
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs for automated equipment
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Ability to read electrical schematics
- Experience programming Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs
- Willingness to travel to job sites
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 13849)
- Experience with FANUC or ABB robots
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Miramar, FL is $100,000 – $128,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
