As a Transportation Engineer Intern with the employer, you will gain hands-on experience and help shape how the civil engineering team works. This position is based in Kansas City, MO. This is a 12-week paid summer internship. This role is on site at our Kansas City location.
What you’ll do
- Design roadway, intersection and multimodal improvements
- Design signing, striping and maintenance-of-traffic plans
- Present findings at public meetings
- Prepare plans, specifications and estimates for DOT projects
What you’ll bring
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Strong written communication
- Knowledge of MUTCD and AASHTO standards
- Experience with traffic analysis software
Nice to have
- Experience on state DOT projects
- PE or PTOE certification
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Kansas City, MO is $23 – $27 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
