The employer is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Columbus, OH. In this role you will lead technical work alongside an experienced mechanical engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Columbus office.
What you’ll do
- Build and test prototypes, then iterate on the results
- Manage engineering change orders and documentation
- Run tolerance stack-ups and apply GD&T to drawings
- Perform FEA and hand calculations to validate designs
- Design mechanical components and assemblies in SolidWorks
- Work with suppliers and manufacturing on design for manufacturability
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Hands-on prototyping and testing experience
- Working knowledge of GD&T
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, Creo or NX
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with ANSYS or Abaqus
- Experience with injection molding or sheet-metal design
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Columbus, OH is $99,000 – $126,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
