Senior Transportation Engineer

Our Oakland office is growing, and we need a Senior Transportation Engineer who can lead technical work from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative civil engineering group and report to the civil engineering manager. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Oakland location.
What you’ll do
- Design roadway, intersection and multimodal improvements
- Design signing, striping and maintenance-of-traffic plans
- Perform traffic impact and signal timing studies in Synchro
- Present findings at public meetings
- Prepare plans, specifications and estimates for DOT projects
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience with traffic analysis software
- Strong written communication
- Knowledge of MUTCD and AASHTO standards
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience on state DOT projects
- PE or PTOE certification
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Oakland, CA is $135,000 – $171,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
