The employer is a cloud software company helping mid-size businesses manage billing and payments.
Our New York office is growing, and we need a Data Engineer who can work independently from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative data engineering group and report to the data engineering manager. This is a 9-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is on site at our New York location.
What you’ll do
- Optimize warehouse cost and query performance
- Model data in dbt so analysts and data scientists can rely on it
- Build and maintain batch and streaming pipelines into the data warehouse
- Monitor data quality and fix pipeline failures quickly
- Work with stakeholders to turn reporting needs into data products
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics or a related field
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience
- Understanding of dimensional data modeling
- Strong SQL and Python skills
- Experience with a cloud data warehouse
Nice to have
- Experience with Spark or Flink
- Experience with data contracts or data observability tools
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in New York, NY is $92 – $113 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
