Water Resources Engineer Intern

$22 to $26 an hour
The employer is a structural engineering practice working on commercial, healthcare and higher-education buildings.
As a Water Resources Engineer Intern with the employer, you will gain hands-on experience and help shape how the civil engineering team works. This position is based in Memphis, TN. This is a 12-week paid summer internship. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Memphis office.
What you’ll do
- Model hydrology and hydraulics for flood control and stormwater projects
- Support grant applications and regulatory submittals
- Analyze data in GIS to support capital planning
- Prepare master plans and engineering reports for municipal clients
- Design water distribution, sewer and pump station improvements
What you’ll bring
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Strong report writing
- Understanding of hydraulics and hydrology
- Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS or SWMM
Nice to have
- PE license
- Experience with InfoWater or WaterGEMS
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Memphis, TN is $22 – $26 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
