Transportation Engineer

The employer is a multidisciplinary engineering and consulting firm serving public agencies and private developers.
As a Transportation Engineer with the employer, you will work independently and help shape how the civil engineering team works. This position is based in Providence, RI. This is a 9-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is on site at our Providence location.
What you’ll do
- Prepare plans, specifications and estimates for DOT projects
- Perform traffic impact and signal timing studies in Synchro
- Design roadway, intersection and multimodal improvements
- Present findings at public meetings
- Design signing, striping and maintenance-of-traffic plans
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience
- Knowledge of MUTCD and AASHTO standards
- Experience with MicroStation/OpenRoads or Civil 3D
- Strong written communication
Nice to have
- PE or PTOE certification
- Experience on state DOT projects
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Providence, RI is $60 – $73 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
