We are hiring a Staff Software Engineer to join our software engineering team in New York. You will set technical direction on projects that matter to our customers. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our New York location.
What you’ll do
- Write clean, well-tested code and review pull requests from teammates
- Diagnose and resolve production issues, and write the follow-up that keeps them from recurring
- Automate repetitive build, test and release steps
- Improve performance, reliability and observability across the services you own
- Contribute to technical design documents and architecture discussions
- Mentor teammates and help raise the bar for code quality on the team
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience with relational databases and writing efficient SQL
- Comfort working with version control, code review and automated testing
- Professional experience shipping production software in at least one modern language
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
- Experience building distributed systems or event-driven architectures
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in New York, NY is $224,000 – $286,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
