The employer is looking for a Staff Site Reliability Engineer in New Orleans, LA. In this role you will set technical direction alongside an experienced software engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our New Orleans location.
What you’ll do
- Lead incident response and write blameless post-incident reviews
- Define service level objectives with product teams and track error budgets
- Run capacity planning and load testing for critical services
- Build tooling that removes toil from operations work
- Improve the observability stack: metrics, logs and traces
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience with modern observability tooling
- Deep Linux and networking fundamentals
- Proficiency in Go, Python or a similar language
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with chaos engineering
- Experience in a regulated or high-availability environment
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in New Orleans, LA is $175,000 – $223,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
