The employer is looking for a Staff Data Engineer in Philadelphia, PA. In this role you will set technical direction alongside an experienced data engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Philadelphia location.
What you’ll do
- Build and maintain batch and streaming pipelines into the data warehouse
- Optimize warehouse cost and query performance
- Monitor data quality and fix pipeline failures quickly
- Work with stakeholders to turn reporting needs into data products
- Model data in dbt so analysts and data scientists can rely on it
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics or a related field
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience with a cloud data warehouse
- Strong SQL and Python skills
- Experience with an orchestration tool such as Airflow or Dagster
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with Spark or Flink
- Experience with data contracts or data observability tools
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Philadelphia, PA is $168,000 – $214,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
