Software Engineer

The employer is a SaaS company building scheduling and dispatch software for field service businesses.

As a Software Engineer with the employer, you will work independently and help shape how the software engineering team works. This position is based in Raleigh, NC. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Raleigh office.

What you’ll do

• Contribute to technical design documents and architecture discussions
• Diagnose and resolve production issues, and write the follow-up that keeps them from recurring
• Improve performance, reliability and observability across the services you own
• Automate repetitive build, test and release steps
• Mentor teammates and help raise the bar for code quality on the team
• Partner with product managers and designers to scope and estimate new work

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience
• Comfort working with version control, code review and automated testing
• Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms and software design principles
• Experience with relational databases and writing efficient SQL

Nice to have

• Experience building distributed systems or event-driven architectures
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position in Raleigh, NC is $113,000 – $143,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
