Software Engineer

The employer is a cloud software company helping mid-size businesses manage billing and payments.

As a Software Engineer with the employer, you will work independently and help shape how the software engineering team works. This position is based in Garland, TX. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Garland office.

What you’ll do

• Mentor teammates and help raise the bar for code quality on the team
• Diagnose and resolve production issues, and write the follow-up that keeps them from recurring
• Write clean, well-tested code and review pull requests from teammates
• Partner with product managers and designers to scope and estimate new work
• Contribute to technical design documents and architecture discussions
• Design, build and maintain services and features used by thousands of customers every day

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience
• Experience with relational databases and writing efficient SQL
• Comfort working with version control, code review and automated testing
• Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms and software design principles

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
• Experience building distributed systems or event-driven architectures

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position in Garland, TX is $121,000 – $154,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
