Software Engineer

The employer is a cybersecurity company providing managed detection and response to regulated industries.

The employer is looking for a Software Engineer in Elk Grove, CA. In this role you will work independently alongside an experienced software engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Elk Grove location.

What you’ll do

• Diagnose and resolve production issues, and write the follow-up that keeps them from recurring
• Contribute to technical design documents and architecture discussions
• Partner with product managers and designers to scope and estimate new work
• Improve performance, reliability and observability across the services you own
• Automate repetitive build, test and release steps

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience
• Comfort working with version control, code review and automated testing
• Experience with relational databases and writing efficient SQL
• Professional experience shipping production software in at least one modern language

Nice to have

• Experience building distributed systems or event-driven architectures
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position in Elk Grove, CA is $136,000 – $173,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
