Our Sterling Heights office is growing, and we need a Senior Structural Engineer who can lead technical work from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative civil engineering group and report to the civil engineering manager. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Sterling Heights office.
What you’ll do
- Prepare calculations and structural drawings coordinated in Revit
- Review shop drawings and answer contractor RFIs
- Build analysis models in RISA, ETABS or SAP2000
- Perform condition assessments of existing structures
- Analyze and design steel, concrete, masonry and wood structures
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, AISC and ACI codes
- Clear communication with architects and contractors
- Experience with structural analysis software
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Seismic design experience
- PE or SE license
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Sterling Heights, MI is $108,000 – $137,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
