The employer is a mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering firm specializing in high-performance buildings.
Our Bakersfield office is growing, and we need a Senior Structural Engineer who can lead technical work from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative civil engineering group and report to the civil engineering manager. This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is on site at our Bakersfield location.
What you’ll do
- Prepare calculations and structural drawings coordinated in Revit
- Perform condition assessments of existing structures
- Build analysis models in RISA, ETABS or SAP2000
- Analyze and design steel, concrete, masonry and wood structures
- Review shop drawings and answer contractor RFIs
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Clear communication with architects and contractors
- Knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, AISC and ACI codes
- Strong hand-calculation skills
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Seismic design experience
- PE or SE license
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Bakersfield, CA is $83 – $101 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
