Senior Software Engineer

The employer is a networking company that designs connectivity products for enterprises and carriers.

The employer is looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Chattanooga, TN. In this role you will lead technical work alongside an experienced software engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Chattanooga office.

What you’ll do

• Automate repetitive build, test and release steps
• Diagnose and resolve production issues, and write the follow-up that keeps them from recurring
• Write clean, well-tested code and review pull requests from teammates
• Partner with product managers and designers to scope and estimate new work
• Mentor junior engineers and review their work

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience
• Professional experience shipping production software in at least one modern language
• Comfort working with version control, code review and automated testing
• Experience with relational databases and writing efficient SQL
• A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery

Nice to have

• Experience building distributed systems or event-driven architectures
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position in Chattanooga, TN is $138,000 – $176,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
