Our Houston office is growing, and we need a Senior Robotics Engineer who can lead technical work from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative mechanical engineering group and report to the mechanical engineering manager. This is a 9-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is on site at our Houston location.
What you’ll do
- Tune and validate robot performance in the lab and the field
- Write simulation and test tools
- Integrate sensors, actuators and compute hardware
- Develop software for robot perception, planning and control
- Work across mechanical, electrical and software teams
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Hands-on robotics experience
- Understanding of kinematics and control
- Strong C++ or Python skills
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with SLAM or computer vision
- Graduate degree in robotics
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Houston, TX is $83 – $102 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
