The employer is looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer in San Jose, CA. In this role you will lead technical work alongside an experienced software engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our San Jose location.
What you’ll do
- Report on quality metrics and release readiness
- Write test plans and test cases for new features
- Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline
- Design and maintain automated UI and API test suites
- Track, reproduce and triage defects with developers
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Programming ability in Python, Java or JavaScript
- Experience building test automation with Selenium, Playwright or Cypress
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- ISTQB certification
- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in San Jose, CA is $170,000 – $216,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
