As a Senior Power Systems Engineer with the employer, you will lead technical work and help shape how the electrical & computer engineering team works. This position is based in Houston, TX. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Houston office.
What you’ll do
- Perform load flow, short circuit and arc flash studies
- Design substation, distribution and protection systems
- Prepare drawings and specifications for utility projects
- Develop relay settings and coordination studies
- Support interconnection studies for renewable generation
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Knowledge of protective relaying
- Experience with ETAP, PSS/E or SKM
- Strong analytical skills
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- PE license
- Experience with battery storage or solar interconnection
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Houston, TX is $117,000 – $149,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
