We are hiring a Senior Materials Engineer to join our materials engineering team in Los Angeles. You will lead technical work on projects that matter to our customers. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Los Angeles location.
What you’ll do
- Support suppliers with process and material issues
- Perform failure analysis on returned and field components
- Select and qualify materials for new product designs
- Write material specifications and test reports
- Run mechanical, thermal and microstructural testing
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science or Metallurgical Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Laboratory experience
- Strong report writing
- Knowledge of metals, polymers or composites
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Graduate degree in materials science
- Experience with additive manufacturing
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is $132,000 – $168,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
