The employer is looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in Tuscaloosa, AL. In this role you will lead technical work alongside an experienced civil engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Tuscaloosa location.
What you’ll do
- Write geotechnical reports with design recommendations
- Analyze foundations, retaining walls and slope stability
- Observe earthwork and foundation construction in the field
- Coordinate drilling subcontractors and field staff
- Plan and oversee subsurface explorations and laboratory testing
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience writing geotechnical reports
- Strong soil mechanics fundamentals
- Valid driver’s license
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in geotechnical engineering
- PE license
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Tuscaloosa, AL is $95,000 – $121,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
