Our San Francisco office is growing, and we need a Senior Front-End Engineer who can lead technical work from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative software engineering group and report to the software engineering manager. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our San Francisco office.
What you’ll do
- Write unit and end-to-end tests for user-facing features
- Measure and improve page performance and Core Web Vitals
- Build responsive, accessible user interfaces in React and TypeScript
- Work with back-end engineers to define clean API contracts
- Champion accessibility and usability across the product
- Translate designs into reusable components and maintain the shared component library
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Working knowledge of HTML semantics, CSS layout and browser developer tools
- Experience writing automated tests for front-end code
- Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with Next.js or server-side rendering
- Experience with WCAG 2.1 AA audits
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in San Francisco, CA is $180,000 – $229,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
