The employer is looking for a Senior Energy Engineer in Chicago, IL. In this role you will lead technical work alongside an experienced energy engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a 9-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Chicago office.
What you’ll do
- Write reports and present results to clients
- Model energy-saving measures and calculate payback
- Conduct energy audits of commercial and industrial facilities
- Run measurement and verification of completed projects
- Design solar PV and battery storage systems
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Energy Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Strong spreadsheet and data analysis skills
- Knowledge of building systems and energy efficiency
- Experience with energy modeling tools
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- CEM or PE certification
- Experience with incentive programs
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Chicago, IL is $71 – $87 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
