The employer is looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer in Chula Vista, CA. In this role you will lead technical work alongside an experienced electrical & computer engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Chula Vista office.
What you’ll do
- Write unit and hardware-in-the-loop tests
- Bring up new hardware with the electrical engineering team
- Debug at the board level with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and JTAG
- Develop firmware in C and C++ for microcontroller-based products
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Ability to read schematics and datasheets
- Strong C programming skills for resource-constrained systems
- Experience with an RTOS or bare-metal firmware
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience in a regulated industry (medical, automotive, aerospace)
- Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy or other wireless stacks
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Chula Vista, CA is $171,000 – $218,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
