The employer is a SaaS company building scheduling and dispatch software for field service businesses.
As a Senior Data Engineer with the employer, you will lead technical work and help shape how the data engineering team works. This position is based in Moreno Valley, CA. This is a 9-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Moreno Valley office.
What you’ll do
- Model data in dbt so analysts and data scientists can rely on it
- Monitor data quality and fix pipeline failures quickly
- Build and maintain batch and streaming pipelines into the data warehouse
- Optimize warehouse cost and query performance
- Work with stakeholders to turn reporting needs into data products
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Understanding of dimensional data modeling
- Experience with a cloud data warehouse
- Strong SQL and Python skills
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with Spark or Flink
- Experience with data contracts or data observability tools
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Moreno Valley, CA is $107 – $131 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
