Senior Controls Engineer

The employer is a contract manufacturer producing precision metal components and assemblies.
We are hiring a Senior Controls Engineer to join our electrical & computer engineering team in San Antonio. You will lead technical work on projects that matter to our customers. This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is on site at our San Antonio location.
What you’ll do
- Integrate robots, vision systems and safety devices
- Design control panels and electrical schematics
- Commission equipment on site and train operators
- Develop HMI and SCADA screens
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs for automated equipment
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Willingness to travel to job sites
- Ability to read electrical schematics
- Experience programming Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 13849)
- Experience with FANUC or ABB robots
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in San Antonio, TX is $72 – $88 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
