As a Senior Controls Engineer with the employer, you will lead technical work and help shape how the electrical & computer engineering team works. This position is based in Chicago, IL. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Chicago location.
What you’ll do
- Commission equipment on site and train operators
- Design control panels and electrical schematics
- Develop HMI and SCADA screens
- Integrate robots, vision systems and safety devices
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs for automated equipment
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience programming Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs
- Ability to read electrical schematics
- Willingness to travel to job sites
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 13849)
- Experience with FANUC or ABB robots
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Chicago, IL is $115,000 – $146,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
