We are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to join our software engineering team in El Paso. You will lead technical work on projects that matter to our customers. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our El Paso office.
What you’ll do
- Own services end to end, including deployment, monitoring and on-call
- Build asynchronous processing with message queues and streaming systems
- Design and operate APIs and data pipelines that power customer-facing products
- Write design documents and weigh trade-offs with the wider engineering group
- Model data and tune queries for PostgreSQL and other data stores
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Clear written communication for design reviews
- Strong understanding of relational data modeling
- Experience operating services in a cloud environment
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Background in high-throughput or low-latency systems
- Experience with infrastructure as code
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in El Paso, TX is $153,000 – $194,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
