The employer is looking for a Security Engineer in Phoenix, AZ. In this role you will work independently alongside an experienced software engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Phoenix office.
What you’ll do
- Support compliance work such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001 audits
- Run threat models and security reviews for new features and infrastructure
- Build detections and respond to security incidents
- Manage vulnerability scanning and drive remediation with engineering teams
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related field
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience
- Scripting ability in Python or a similar language
- Working knowledge of common attack techniques and defenses
- Experience with a SIEM or log analysis platform
Nice to have
- Experience with container security
- Security certifications such as OSCP, CISSP or GIAC
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Phoenix, AZ is $77 – $94 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
