Process Engineer Intern

The employer is a packaging manufacturer running high-speed production lines across several plants.
As a Process Engineer Intern with the employer, you will gain hands-on experience and help shape how the chemical engineering team works. This position is based in Palm Bay, FL. This is a 12-week paid summer internship. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Palm Bay office.
What you’ll do
- Lead process hazard analyses and management-of-change reviews
- Monitor and optimize unit operations for yield, quality and cost
- Develop P&IDs, mass balances and process documentation
- Troubleshoot production issues with operations and maintenance
What you’ll bring
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemical Engineering
- Experience in a manufacturing or plant environment
- Strong chemical engineering fundamentals
- Data analysis skills
Nice to have
- Six Sigma certification
- Experience with Aspen Plus or HYSYS
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Palm Bay, FL is $23 – $27 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
