Our Las Vegas office is growing, and we need a Principal Transportation Engineer who can set technical direction from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative civil engineering group and report to the civil engineering manager. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Las Vegas office.
What you’ll do
- Prepare plans, specifications and estimates for DOT projects
- Present findings at public meetings
- Perform traffic impact and signal timing studies in Synchro
- Design signing, striping and maintenance-of-traffic plans
- Design roadway, intersection and multimodal improvements
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Knowledge of MUTCD and AASHTO standards
- Experience with MicroStation/OpenRoads or Civil 3D
- Experience with traffic analysis software
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- PE or PTOE certification
- Experience on state DOT projects
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Las Vegas, NV is $120,000 – $153,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
