We are hiring a Principal Petroleum Engineer to join our petroleum engineering team in Sacramento. You will set technical direction on projects that matter to our customers. This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is on site at our Sacramento location.
What you’ll do
- Monitor field performance and recommend workovers
- Prepare economic evaluations for development projects
- Perform reservoir and decline-curve analysis
- Plan and optimize well completions and production
- Coordinate with geoscience and operations teams
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Willingness to visit field locations
- Strong economic analysis skills
- Experience with reservoir or production engineering
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- PE license
- Unconventional reservoir experience
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Sacramento, CA is $130 – $159 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
