As a Principal Petroleum Engineer with the employer, you will set technical direction and help shape how the petroleum engineering team works. This position is based in Lafayette, LA. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Lafayette location.
What you’ll do
- Plan and optimize well completions and production
- Prepare economic evaluations for development projects
- Perform reservoir and decline-curve analysis
- Monitor field performance and recommend workovers
- Coordinate with geoscience and operations teams
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Familiarity with industry software such as Petrel or ARIES
- Willingness to visit field locations
- Experience with reservoir or production engineering
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Unconventional reservoir experience
- PE license
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Lafayette, LA is $167,000 – $213,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
