Our Stockton office is growing, and we need a Principal HVAC Design Engineer who can set technical direction from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative mechanical engineering group and report to the mechanical engineering manager. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Stockton location.
What you’ll do
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations
- Design HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial, healthcare and education buildings
- Support construction administration and commissioning
- Model systems and produce construction documents in Revit
- Select equipment and write specifications
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Knowledge of ASHRAE standards and mechanical codes
- Strong coordination skills
- Experience with load calculation software
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with energy modeling in eQUEST or IES
- LEED AP credential
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Stockton, CA is $144,000 – $184,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
