As a Principal Electrical Engineer with the employer, you will set technical direction and help shape how the electrical & computer engineering team works. This position is based in Norfolk, VA. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Norfolk location.
What you’ll do
- Capture schematics and guide PCB layout in Altium
- Design analog, digital and power circuits for new products
- Maintain bills of materials and work with component suppliers
- Support EMC, safety and regulatory testing
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Hands-on experience with lab test equipment
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools
- Ability to read and interpret datasheets
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with UL or IEC certification
- Experience with power electronics or motor drives
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Norfolk, VA is $142,000 – $180,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
