The employer is looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer in New York, NY. In this role you will set technical direction alongside an experienced electrical & computer engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is on site at our New York location.
What you’ll do
- Simulate circuits and perform worst-case analysis
- Support EMC, safety and regulatory testing
- Design analog, digital and power circuits for new products
- Bring up and validate prototype hardware in the lab
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Hands-on experience with lab test equipment
- Ability to read and interpret datasheets
- Strong analog and digital circuit fundamentals
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with UL or IEC certification
- Experience with power electronics or motor drives
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in New York, NY is $107 – $131 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
