Our Costa Mesa office is growing, and we need a Principal Civil Engineer who can set technical direction from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative civil engineering group and report to the civil engineering manager. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Costa Mesa location.
What you’ll do
- Prepare cost estimates and quantity takeoffs
- Prepare stormwater reports and calculations
- Support construction administration, including submittal review and site visits
- Coordinate with municipal reviewers and secure permits
- Produce construction drawings and specifications in Civil 3D
- Prepare site, grading, utility and drainage designs for land development projects
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Strong technical writing skills
- Ability to manage several projects at once
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT certification
- Experience with HEC-RAS or SWMM
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Costa Mesa, CA is $160,000 – $203,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
