The employer is looking for a Principal Chemical Engineer in Houston, TX. In this role you will set technical direction alongside an experienced chemical engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Houston location.
What you’ll do
- Take part in process hazard analyses
- Support capital projects through commissioning
- Simulate processes in Aspen Plus
- Design and scale up chemical processes from pilot to production
- Size equipment and prepare process design packages
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience with process simulation software
- Knowledge of separations and reaction engineering
- Understanding of process safety
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Pilot plant experience
- PE license
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Houston, TX is $130,000 – $165,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
