Power Systems Engineer Intern

We are hiring a Power Systems Engineer Intern to join our electrical & computer engineering team in Irvine. You will gain hands-on experience on projects that matter to our customers. This is a 12-week paid summer internship. This role is on site at our Irvine location.
What you’ll do
- Prepare drawings and specifications for utility projects
- Develop relay settings and coordination studies
- Design substation, distribution and protection systems
- Perform load flow, short circuit and arc flash studies
- Support interconnection studies for renewable generation
What you’ll bring
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Knowledge of protective relaying
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience with ETAP, PSS/E or SKM
Nice to have
- PE license
- Experience with battery storage or solar interconnection
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Irvine, CA is $34 – $40 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
