Mechanical Engineer Intern

The employer is looking for a Mechanical Engineer Intern in Thousand Oaks, CA. In this role you will gain hands-on experience alongside an experienced mechanical engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a 12-week paid summer internship. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Thousand Oaks office.
What you’ll do
- Design mechanical components and assemblies in SolidWorks
- Work with suppliers and manufacturing on design for manufacturability
- Manage engineering change orders and documentation
- Build and test prototypes, then iterate on the results
- Perform FEA and hand calculations to validate designs
What you’ll bring
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Hands-on prototyping and testing experience
- Understanding of common manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, Creo or NX
Nice to have
- Experience with ANSYS or Abaqus
- Experience with injection molding or sheet-metal design
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Thousand Oaks, CA is $30 – $35 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
