The employer is looking for a Mechanical Engineer in Fremont, CA. In this role you will work independently alongside an experienced mechanical engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is on site at our Fremont location.
What you’ll do
- Manage engineering change orders and documentation
- Build and test prototypes, then iterate on the results
- Work with suppliers and manufacturing on design for manufacturability
- Run tolerance stack-ups and apply GD&T to drawings
- Perform FEA and hand calculations to validate designs
- Design mechanical components and assemblies in SolidWorks
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience
- Understanding of common manufacturing processes
- Working knowledge of GD&T
- Hands-on prototyping and testing experience
Nice to have
- Experience with injection molding or sheet-metal design
- Experience with ANSYS or Abaqus
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Fremont, CA is $76 – $93 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
