As a Materials Engineer with the employer, you will work independently and help shape how the materials engineering team works. This position is based in Pittsburgh, PA. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Pittsburgh location.
What you’ll do
- Support suppliers with process and material issues
- Write material specifications and test reports
- Run mechanical, thermal and microstructural testing
- Perform failure analysis on returned and field components
- Select and qualify materials for new product designs
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science or Metallurgical Engineering
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience
- Laboratory experience
- Strong report writing
- Experience with materials characterization methods
Nice to have
- Experience with additive manufacturing
- Graduate degree in materials science
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Pittsburgh, PA is $92,000 – $118,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
