Manufacturing Engineer Intern

The employer is a packaging manufacturer running high-speed production lines across several plants.
We are hiring a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join our industrial & manufacturing engineering team in Philadelphia. You will gain hands-on experience on projects that matter to our customers. This is a 12-week paid summer internship. This role is on site at our Philadelphia location.
What you’ll do
- Drive scrap reduction, cycle-time and cost improvements
- Lead PFMEAs and root-cause investigations
- Write work instructions and process documentation
- Design fixtures, tooling and work cells
- Support new product introduction on the production floor
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes for new and existing products
What you’ll bring
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- CAD skills for fixture design
- Experience in a production manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of lean and continuous improvement
Nice to have
- Experience with automation and robotics
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Philadelphia, PA is $22 – $26 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
