Machine Learning Engineer

The employer is an applied machine learning company serving insurance and financial services clients.

The employer is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer in Charlotte, NC. In this role you will work independently alongside an experienced software engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Charlotte office.

What you’ll do

• Design offline and online experiments to measure model impact
• Optimize model latency and serving cost
• Work with data scientists to move prototypes into reliable systems
• Build feature pipelines and model monitoring

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning or a related field
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience
• Experience deploying ML models to production
• Strong Python and software engineering fundamentals
• Solid understanding of statistics and model evaluation

Nice to have

• Experience with large language models or retrieval systems
• Graduate degree in a quantitative field

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position in Charlotte, NC is $129,000 – $164,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
