Lead Manufacturing Engineer

The employer is a manufacturer of industrial pumps, valves and flow-control equipment.
As a Lead Manufacturing Engineer with the employer, you will set technical direction and help shape how the industrial & manufacturing engineering team works. This position is based in Wichita, KS. This is a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Wichita office.
What you’ll do
- Write work instructions and process documentation
- Drive scrap reduction, cycle-time and cost improvements
- Lead PFMEAs and root-cause investigations
- Design fixtures, tooling and work cells
- Support new product introduction on the production floor
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Working knowledge of lean and continuous improvement
- Experience in a production manufacturing environment
- CAD skills for fixture design
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with automation and robotics
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Wichita, KS is $69 – $84 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
